queenThe Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II will mark her celebrate 70 years as monarch Sunday 6th January. Though the queen has rarely appeared in public and has cancelled all major engagement since she spent a night in the hospital for tests in October last year.

The Queen has used a walking sticks in public appearances since October, but a note from the Royal official says it is not linked to any specific Health condition.

The Queen earlier yesterday morning spoke to some residents at her Sandringham residence located in the east of England.

This Sunday will be exactly 70th years her father King George VI passed away, and thus also making this the very day she sat on the throne. Later that day at the Sandringham’s ballroom she cut a cake with the Platinum jubilee emblem iced in top.

The Queen will spend this day at Sandringham because it was the place her father died of lung cancer during her visit to Kenya. During her fathers death she was standing in for him on a long term-planned international tour with her husband, Prince Philip.

The couple has been enjoying a brief respite from their royal duties in the heart of Kenya.

On the 5th of February that year, she had spent the day with the Duke of Edinburgh taking cine of wildlife animals.

Though the king passed on the next day, the information got to her on the 7th due to the remote location of the game viewing lodge. She was surprised because the king himself saw them off from Heathrow on the 31st January

On the early morning of 6th January the world woke up to the sad announcement by the BBC, that the king has passed away in his sleep.

The sad news got to the Royal officials from his servant who found him dead in this room that morning. The king was buried on the 15th of that month in Windsor at St George’s chapel .
